Guide to Spring Break Striper Fishing Lake Tawakoni

The Complete Guide to Spring Break Striper Fishing Lake Tawakoni will help anglers and families plan a cool vacation!  We blog a lot about Striper Fishing Lake Tawakoni, so this post is more about other things to do near this great reservoir.  We will take time to break down our Lake Tawakoni March Fishing Season!

Guide to Spring Break Striper Fishing Lake Tawakoni-March Season

March Fishing Season on Lake Tawakoni is very good and can offer a multi-species adventure.  March can be your best bet to catching a Lake Tawakoni Grand Slam!  What is a Lake Tawakoni Grand Slam?  A Trip that produces a Blue Catfish, Channel Catfish, White Bass, Striped Bass, and a Hybrid Striper!  We are lucky and have all the grand slam species really hungry in March.  You still have an outside shot at a trophy blue catfish, but most will be eating size.  We do stumble on a few big channel catfish, but March will be eater size!  This is a perfect opportunity to stock the freezer up for those warm weather fish fries.

The Striper and Hybrid Striper seasons are just starting on Lake Tawakoni and as the days get warmer these species will become more active!  Most of our fishing will be with live bait, but as the weather warms we will start throwing A-Rigs, Swimbaits, and then dropping Slab Spoons.  You can hit that magical day when the weather warms and the big hybrid striper start to school up shad and we get some topwater action, but these days are more common in May-June.  Lake Tawakoni White Bass are done spawning and will be very hungry near points and creeks.  The White Bass fishing can be non-stop excitement the entire month of March!

We are lucky to have this Great Lake to call home!  Come join us on your Spring Break and enjoy a family vacation on Lake Tawakoni!  For more information please follow Lake Tawakoni Fishing Guide Andrew Taylor.
